Last appearances are only used for, well their last appearance, not their latest appearances. Since they're still making Godzilla films and there are no plans of stopping, last appearance is inappropriate to use in this article. You're taking the word "last" too literal here. In this context, Last appearance does not mean the same as "final" appearance, it means what was the most latest film the character appeared in. As of now, Godzilla's last appearance in any movie was Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters. There is no rule on Wiki's Manual of Style guidelines that state that "last appearances" should be removed, therefore, it should not be removed from the article. Do we list Godzilla's latest appearance as his last appearance, even though there are more films in production, or do we leave it blank until/unless the franchise is retired? JDDJS (talk) 19:34, 17 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Like I said, you're taking "last" appearance too literal. In this context, "last" does not mean the same as "final". It's like when someone asks you "when was the last time you saw this or that", it does not mean the "final" time you will ever see it, it means what was the "latest" you saw this or that. "Godzilla as portrayed by Haruo Nakajima via suitmation in Godzilla (1954)" is only correct in general sense because Hauro Nakajima played Godzilla in most suitmation scenes. However, the image used is a publicity still and the person who wore the suit for that occassion was modeller Eizo Kaimai not Haruo Nakajima. So to be correct either the photo should be changed or the description.

Most set photos from the original do show Nakajima but please keep in mind the other suit actor, Katsumi Tezuka, is the man wearing the Godzilla suit in the scenes near the Diet building. I didn't change either the photo or description because I think it's a very serious thing to change the main photo of such a large article and I understand it's much more preferable to include the name of Godzilla's most famous actor and not the modeller so this post was just made fyi to inform you it's incorrect. I’m not disregarding anything, but reliability has to be considered. How reliable are these sources? One is a blog, so we can’t use that one. But how reliable is the JVTA source? Furthermore, are there more sources confirming this? Armegon (talk) 18:39, 21 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
Another. If it's something that only Japanese genre experts are talking about but it lacks some easier to find sources in English (or Japanese, but yeah they're not that easy to get those books and magazines) then I've got nothing just wanted to issue a small correction in the discussion tab so at least the information is out there in some form otherwise I would've simply changed the article itself.
Well, ok the Japanese version of the Wiki article for Eizo Kaimai 開米栄三 and I believe for the original Godzilla film mention it too and the source given is "Godzilla Research Reader" or "初代ゴジラ研究読本 2014, pp. 182–191, 取材・文:友井健人「INTERVIEW 造型助手 開米栄三」" MrCogito01 (talk) 00:19, 22 April 2025 (UTC)[reply]
It would be weird to add description to the main photo of the article that reads "Godzilla as portrayed by Eizo Kaimi" because we just know he wore the suit for that particular publicity shoot session... and possibly later when the crew made a Godzilla suit that was shipped to the U.S. for "Volcano Monster" movie with him being the tallest serving as the model for the intended American actor. I mean it would be weird because it was a pretty unusual situation for him and doesn't exemplify the situation very well so if someone were to ask me I'd just keep the photo but leave out the detail who portrayed Godzilla for that occassion (because the information can be found in the text) just like what the Japanese version of the article did.
